The traffic safety focus for the month of October is Pedestrian Safety.
Pedestrian collisions are more common during the fall season than other times of the year, as the hours of daylight decrease, and pedestrian visibility is reduced. Collisions involving pedestrians are most likely to happen during the afternoon rush hour (between 3:00 and 7:00 pm), when people are rushing to get home. Drivers and pedestrians should always look out for each other.
